Declan joined the London operation of the HW Kaufman Group in March 2025 to lead the Non-Marine business encompassing North American, International and Global Specialty.

With over 35 years’ industry experience, past roles include leading the North American & International Wholesale Casualty business at Lockton Companies and serving on the Board of Gallagher UK as head of Broking & Placement. 

A strong negotiator with excellent market relationships at both trading and senior management level in London Europe and Bermuda, Declan has strong expertise in the placement of complex deals in tough sectors including Transportation, Power utilities & vegetation management, Construction, Mining and Life Science. 

His focus is to expand on the expertise within the business with a view to providing greater products and market selection for our clients, as well as driving ‘client first’ service and delivery.  

Declan is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute and a Chartered Insurance Practitioner.

Robert is Managing Director and Co-Lead of the Marine Team at Lochain Patrick Insurance Brokers where he has been a key part of the team since 1999.  With over 30 years of experience in the marine industry – including more than 25 years at Lochain Patrick – Robert has extensive expertise across all classes of marine cover.  He is committed to delivering clear, practical advice and building long-term relationships based on trust and professionalism.

Stephanie is Managing Director and Co-Lead of the Marine Team at Lochain Patrick Insurance Brokers.  With over 25 years of experience in the insurance market, she began her career in marine claims before progressing into underwriting with a focus across all marine classes of business. In 2019, she brought her expertise to Lochain Patrick, where she now specialises in broking, developing new business and maintaining strong client relationships.

James Sergeant serves as Executive Director, Burns & Wilcox Global Solutions, where he leads the broking team responsible for working with clients across North America.

With over 20 years of expertise, more than 10 of which have been with Kaufman, James has helped grow the business significantly through close collaboration with clients and markets. 

James is responsible for identifying new opportunities, identifying and securing capacity across multiple product lines, while focused on recruiting the industry’s best talent.

Andrew Furr serves as Executive Director, Global Specialty, for Burns & Wilcox Global Solutions. He leads a team focused on international special risks with deep experience spanning more than 20 years. Andrew has developed a reputation in the marketplace for his commitment to clients and ability to deliver innovative solutions for complex risks. 

Andrew’s expertise is focused on Accident & Health, along with contingency classes, where he excels at addressing unique and challenging risk management needs.

Nathan Rose serves as Executive Director, Global Specialty, at Burns & Wilcox Global Solutions. He has worked at Kaufman since 2007, working in the company’s London and North American offices.

Nation’s expertise spans a variety of sectors including Liability, Professional Indemnity, Medical Malpractice, Cyber, and Directors and Officers Liability.

Throughout his career, Nathan has successfully sourced competitive solutions from both Lloyd’s and company markets for a range of risks, from straightforward to complex.

Kerry Hall serves as Director, Commercial at H.W. Kaufman Group London. She is responsible for the management and optimisation of delegated authority contracts, as well as enhancing long term partnerships with Lloyd’s markets. She will also work closely with the Kaufman leadership in London to develop innovative solutions via the Lloyd’s market that will enable Kaufman to better serve its clients in North America and worldwide. 

Kerry’s industry experience spans nearly 20 years. Prior to Kaufman, Hall served as the Head of Property & Casualty Binders where she fostered deep relationships with Burns & Wilcox teams across North America.  She began her career at PCM Risk Solutions before joining Liberty Syndicates in 2013.

David Ramkin serves as Director at Burns & Wilcox Global Solutions, where he is part of the team dedicated on working with North American clients to produce, place and manage the delegated underwriting portfolio. 

With more than 20 years of experience, David is an expert in the London market focused on security capacity for the company’s valued partners. 

David applies an analytical approach that assists in the placement of new opportunities and existing business. His extensive and deep relationships in London have helped clients become market leaders. 

Simon Cassey’s career spans four decades leading London broking houses with expertise in Casualty, Medical, Accident & Health and Professional Indemnity. He specializes in risks related to international security and business intelligence, adept at all aspects of contractual and risk solutions for international maritime and land based security, defense and humanitarian sectors. Simon is uniquely qualified to advise on the insurance aspects for organisations operating in war zones, including personal risk, political violence, terrorism, sabotage and kidnap & random investment protection. 

Mike Cernuschi is Senior Executive Director of Cranbrook Underwriting Services a division of Chesterfield Insurance Brokers Limited.

Mike has been with the HW Kaufman Group since 2013 and held the title of Underwriting Partner before becoming Chief Underwriting Officer of Cranbrook Underwriting Limited.

He has held numerous positions throughout his 45-year tenure in the Insurance industry including senior roles in Lloyds and AIG (Lexington Insurance Company). Mike now oversees a team specialising in the Broking and Underwriting of International Healthcare, Global Pet & Equine and other niche products.
